The Chamber offers seminars and workshops during the year on subjects that are of useful to our business community. We help to equip you with the tools you need to do business in the modern market place. Information is also available on statewide seminars and workshops.
We fully support business issues that are important to our community. We tell the nation about commercial, cultural, and recreational facilities in our area and work hard to bring new industry and business to Washington County.
The Chamber provides the structure, volunteer leadership, professional staff, and full-time office operation to implement an effective program to meet the need of a growing community.
Accomplishments
• Planned and executed 2008 Annual Meeting “Watch Our Students Soar”
• Continued working to retain current and recruit new members
• Provided quarterly printed newsletter and weekly electronic calendar to membership
• Maintained quarterly Business After Hours
• Maintained membership database
• Upgraded computers/software and other office equipment to better support member services
including label printing for members
• Working on new website with links to member websites and email
• Continued chamber member medical discount insurance program
• Serve as link to the Georgia Chamber and U.S. Chamber member services
• Made conference room available for membership use
• Promoted membership through county magazine
• Hosted the Small Business Development Center Representative for business & local citizens
• Assist membership and citizens with general information, statistics and phone numbers
• Alert membership of scams and other potential problems
• Provide Business & Industry listings for potential clients / customers
• Member referral for all inquiries
• Assist local businesses in finding available retail/business space
• Arranged ribbon cutting / grand opening for new member businesses
